How many more bands could make an album built on scraps and leftovers from previous recording sessions a classic? The concept itself would almost be enough to symbolise an imminent disaster, especially seeing as it was coming at a time when critics were becoming more and more exasperated with their sound which must have been affected by the growing hostility between Mick Jagger and Keith Richards.
Furthermore, the reason for this album's existence is just the fact that Mick and Keith wanted to go on the road again, but wanted to do so backed by a new album, and there is nothing to makes the recording sessions for this album stand out apart from a wish and a will to not let anything good and unused go to waste.
