ANTHONY MOORE - Secrets of the Blue Bag LP
$51.95
British experimental musician and composer Anthony Moore is best known for his work with the legendary Slapp Happy, but just prior to that group's formation Moore moved to Hamburg, hooked up with the producer Uwe Nettelbeck of Faust fame and released two LPs of minimalist modern classical of the highest order.
1971's Pieces From The Cloudland Ballroom features strings, harpsichord and vocals in compositions that Moore refers to as "musical palindromes," while 1972's Secrets Of The Blue Bag is made up of pieces centered around violin, cello, bassoon and vocals, all inspired by an encryption system developed by the 13th century hermeticist Raymond Lully. These are deep, playful and truly original works from an art-rock and avant-garde legend.
