This takes a couple songs to steady its feet and build some confidence but “Water Underground” feels like the band remembering their ability to pen a sneakily simple, catchy tune. Far more jangly and twee than their career peaks—it recalls a lot of 2000’s indie bands at the same time, in the way that a bunch of names are stuck on the tip of my tongue.
