The '80s wouldn't have been the same without Twisted Sister - personifying, in their glammed-up comic scary look, their anthems against authority, and their shock rock sensibilities the essence of teenage rebellion. It helped that the music was so damn catchy and melodic yet without compromising its heaviness. Vocalist Dee Snider was leader of the pack as the band, after struggling for years on the club circuit, released three great records in a row, the debut Under the Blade, their first hit You Can't Stop Rock 'n' Roll, and the almighty Stay Hungry which turned them into a household name for a bit, largely on the basis of some wild MTV videos.
