KIM GORDON - No Home Record LP
Kim Gordon's solo debut is playful, confident, varied, bursting with personality, and consistently excellent throughout.
From "Air BnB" (way more fun than that title might lead you to believe) to the slinky minimalism of "Paprika Pony" to the intense "Murdered Out" (see below)
Then there's the throbbing, almost underwater soundscape of "Don't Play It" to the percussive, strangely seductive "Cookie Butter" to the energetic "Hungry Baby" and finally the clanking, whispery final track "Get Yr Life Back".
No Home Record is nearly as inventive, edgy, and mesmerising as almost anything Sonic Youth ever did while being unmistakably Gordon's own unique creation and skillfully embracing and incorporating more industrial and trap sounds.
