RUINS - Marea/Tide LP
$57.95

Highly recommended.
The Italian Wave duo Ruins has been a going concern – off and on – for more than forty years. Named after a Henry Cow song and originally formed as a quartet in Venice in 1978, the two constants in the group have been Alessandro Pizzin on keyboards and guitarist/vocalist Piergiuseppe Ciranna. Together, they have forged a deeply experimental, dark and funky sound that is unlike any of their peers, then and now.
Marea/Tide is their 1984 masterpiece, a shadowy and conceptual collection of drum machines, synth grooves and angular guitar work created to accompany the abstract paintings of Luigi Viola in a gallery setting.
