PAULINE ANNA STROM - Trans-Millenia Consort LP
The synths mew and purr, yet they are not mindless beasts. Drums pound, but they do not destroy the spell of peace. If anything, they emphasize how intense the spell is, for if drums cannot break it, then almost nothing can. These beautiful contradictions power “Trans-Millenia Consort,” as you flow along a river of ideal memories.
Like the title suggests, this album indeed crosses time. It slows time, coating it in a fine syrup. Yet no one minds, not even time. It builds a gate, a gate which does not block invaders like us, but invites us, letting we stay beneath its portals for a moment or two.
A simple album mostly consisting of gentle keyboard riffs and repeated synth effects. The music sort of floats along in a slightly mysterious way.
