Even by The Ex's standards, this is one uncompromising, bleak affair; as sternly black as its cover photo would suggest.

Eight tracks, identically titled and differentiated only by track number, present the band's perspective on the working man's place in modern industrialism; the worker merely as tool, as disposable resource, as chattel. Depending on your affiliation, it's a call to arms or typical leftist propaganda. Musically, it's as joyless and monotonous as a shift at the refinery.
