CAR SEAT HEADREST - Teens Of Style LP
$37.95
Teens of Style is the thirteenth release from Virginia based indie-rock artist Will Toledo under the name Car Seat Headrest. However, it is the first album of his to be released on a major record label.
Slowly but surely, Toledo has been making waves in the indie-rock scene over the last handful of years. Most notably with his 2011 release Twin Fantasy. This album really showcased a young Will's songwriting skills, as well as a knack for lo-fi production. The album had some dense soundscapes and apathetic vocal delivery often accompanied by some very depressive, and perhaps angsty subject matter in the lyrics. These same characteristics carried through to most of the other albums in his discography as well. While there were some reworked songs on here, Will doesn't in any way ditch the lo-fi aesthetic present in all of his works, but the album isn't run-of-the-mill either. Instead we get another collection of tracks with a lot of kick, a lot of dynamic, and some more great lyrical content.
