CARBONAS - s/t LP
Yeah, it's perfect.
This is basically everything you want out of a punk album. All of the melodies are catchy, the choruses are all memorable, and the riffs are amazing. It really reminds of Jay Reatard's early work, especially the raw and less clean recordings and since Jay made one of our favourite albums of all time, Blood Visions, that is a huge compliment to this record.
At only 20 minutes, it wastes no time, and delivers fast, danceable, and fun punk.
Featuring one Greg King on vox, you'd be mad to ignore his Wipers-influenced current outfit, GG King.
“A taut, brilliant blast of both pop and punk. Given the record's running time, there's 'nary a wasted moment, riff or breath, as the band crams in a host of late-'70s/early-'80s Antipodean and East Coast rock influences, and strains those sounds through the Carbonas' distinctively greasy Southern sonic filter.”—Bob Mehr
