Tom Verlaine is somewhat of a more hidden figure in the history of rock music due to his quiet and reserved nature. His impact is most certainly there, especially in post-punk. If you go digging, you’ll find his influence ranging from 80s Alternative to 00s indie. Whether it be from Television or his solo work. With a style that intoxicates angels (as Patti Smith described), he is truly authentic.
