JEAN-CLAUDE VANNIER - L'Enfant Assassin Des Mouches LP
Highly recommended.
Within the last twenty years the resurgence of sixties Gallic pop, once known as yé-yé music, has escalated beyond an interstellar dizzy height. What might have been a waning, embarrassing genre destined for a shelf-life/death gathering dust amongst the Eurovisions of yesteryear, the jerk beat psychsploitation records of the latter day French disco had soon found new floor space in some of the most credible nightspots in London and Japan.
This has the best possible vintage 70s psychedelic/orchestral/freak/funk/library/groove style put through jump cuts and narrative madness. True ecstatic bliss. For some reason, this kind of freaky groove genius has only come from 70s France.
