COCTEAU TWINS - Head Over Heels LP

Cocteau Twins started as a post-punk band, which is evident from their first album, Garlands. Yes, there were already elements in that which pointed to the typical Cocteau Twins music down the line, but Head Over Heels represents the perfect mix of their initial post-punk flavour with their later, more recognizable ethereal, dreamy tunes. After this album, the predominant emotion of Cocteau Twins would shift to the dreamy realm, but this album is that last one where their post-punk sensibilities are preserved, and thus the music is "edgier" and enjoyably harsher than the later albums in their discography.
