NATHANIEL RATELIFF AND THE NIGHT SWEATS - s/t LP

Now Rateliff has been around for a while – his first album was 2007, but “Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats” was issued in August 2015 and is seen as an eponymous debut. It is on the Stax Label – the history of that label deserves at least one book – and that is important because Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats looks back to the golden age of that record label. There is nothing new or innovative here – but sometimes looking back works – John Fogerty deserves royalties from every Kings of Leon record sold – and Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats works very well indeed.
