This album is nothing ground breaking or experimental, but it’s still a great album. The album kicks off great with “The Bird”, a nice combination a Neo-Soul and Funk. This is the case with most of the album, as Anderson himself handles a good portion of the production and also plays the drums and bass often throughout Malibu. There’s some DJ Khalid and 9th Wonder instrumentals on here as well, and it makes for a really warm and soulful backdrop for Anderson to work over.
