FALL, THE - Fall Heads Roll 2LP
Double LP.
Highly recommended.
With Fall Heads Roll, The Fall entered their first winning streak since Brix left. The previous album The Real New Fall LP was a fantastic punk record with plenty of interesting, creative ideas for the group. Naturally this meant that this lineup was nearing it's end.
Wait...really?...f*ck.
Well, Mark's personality was still a factor in the group, so go figure. Anyway, the resulting tour for this album would be a real shit show resulting in all of the members sans Elena abandoning the band. So, with this album being the Fall record before yet another switch up within the group's roster, how does Fall Heads Roll hold up? Great. It's varied and creative like the last album. If anything the band just goes bigger and wider on all fronts.
Regardless, "Blindness" is a candidate for best Fall song ever - thanks in large parts to the incredible rhythm section performance.
