FLACCID MOJO - Loose Jacks LP
Highly recommended.
While I did enjoy their debut that came out in 2022 - on John Dwyer's Castle Face Records - this is on another level. The killer sample chopping, sound manipulation, manipulated vocals, acid basslines, and heavy duty beats that want to fight you while you dance are all a sight to behold. This album grabs you by the throat and doesn't let go for it's entire runtime, this is the production of the future.
That primal minimalism of their debut given way more shape and form by way of fatter beats and bigger basslines. Pretty much the most visceral and dance floor ready thing you're gonna find in the black dice extended universe. Bjorn and Aaron shred through acid basslines, awkwardly chopped samples, and hulking, massive dance rhythms with so much more focus this time around, creating what is more than likely bound to be one of the most fun and rewarding electronic releases of the year.
