Deluxe has an almost impossibly high standard to live up to, and the most impressive part is, it does, consistently.

This is an album, like a lot of Cluster’s work, with a very subtle, naturalistic and effortless feel. The band at this point wasn’t working under any sort of pressure or assumption that they were a legendary, influential act on the history of electronic music. It’s remarkably free, breezy and completely comfortable in its own skin. There is no flashiness, no failed experiments, no signs of the impending doom of the project as a whole. This is 3 guys, each with individual and unique talents, pulling together in the same direction to make a unified and satisfying progressive electronic album.
