HERMANOS GUTIERREZ - Sonido Cósmico LP

Highly recommended.

Just hearing the sun-tinged guitars and what amounts to minimal yet impactful percussion sets you in a desert miles wide and ever-so-empty, taking you through a day in the life of an unnamed protagonist.

Prepare to be blown away with the Spaghetti Western interpretation of traditional Latin folk and how well this managed to create such a desolate atmosphere. Even with the overarching theme of tumbleweeds and a stereotypical yellow sand-blasted filter, the duo are able to make such a, for lack of a better word, cosmic backdrop with the sparse instrumentation and ethereal reverb.
