NABIHAH IQBAL - Dreamer LP

We've had a few people ask about us stocking this Nabihah Iqbal LP and somebody whose opinion we respect suggested her shoegaze/dream pop concoctions provided one of their "favourite LPs of 2023".

Part of why DREAMER works so well is because Iqbal understands what sounds good with dreampop. The trance and the new wave on this record serve only as different techniques accomplishing the same goal. Its guitars and synths colourfully reverberate through every song while the bass, drums, and vocal delivery change on each track.

Each song uniquely defines dreamy. Some take you back to late nights listening to Slowdive, Yo La Tengo, or Beach House. Some invent a house/trance simplicity that’s new to you. Then, The Cure reveals themselves in This World Couldnt See Us. And the ambient moments!
