The Rising Storm are a garage/folk rock group that formed while attending Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts, in the mid 1960s.

The Rising Storm is most notable for their 1967 album, Calm Before, which is cited by rock and roll historian Richie Unterberger in Allmusic as being "one of the rarest and most respected garage band albums".

The original members of the group were Bob Cohan (guitar), Todd Cohen (bass), Charlie Rockwell (keyboards), Tom Scheft (drums), Tony Thompson (guitar, lead vocal), and Rich Weinberg (guitar, vocals).
