Thee Spivs - Ben Edge, Dan May and Steve Coley - have immersed themselves in the likes of The Lurkers, Sham 69 and 999 and, with nothing remotely in the way of subtlety, have welded it to the garage trash of The Kingsmen, The Sonics and their ilk.

Their brand of punk is the epitome of DIY. Riffs are as basic as ABC, lyrics are inanely repetitive, vocals are loud and yobbish. It's a step up from being regaled in a pub by a crowd of drunks with the indistinct sounds of a jukebox thudding away in the background - but only a small step.

In other words it's as dumb as a box of rocks and I absolutely love it.
