Highly recommended.

Author, fervent music fan, passionate supporter of the Indigenous Literacy Foundation and all round nice guy, Andy Griffiths, took us along to see Tongue Dissolver support Lydia Lunch last week. Andy was spot on with his description and they were wildly wonderful. He very kindly penned his thoughts about their LP:

"... the debut album from dynamic Melbourne outfit TONGUE DISSOLVER, and wow, what an album it is! I was fortunate enough to be present at the secret album launch in the grounds of Royal Park a few months ago with a couple hundred other acolytes and they not only dissolved tongues: they melted minds and liquified all resistance.

Their music consists of primitive driving beats, raw energy and hypnotically charged chaos: a propulsive dub acid electro-techno freakout that will fill you with equal parts dread, joy and the urge to throw your arms in the air and dance like you really don’t care because, believe me, you really won’t.

It’s urgent music that at times sounds like the soundtrack to the end of the world but, at the very same time, sounds like the beginning of a new one. There’s plenty of sturm and drang, that’s for sure, but there’s an astonishing variety of ideas and moods often going on within the same song.

Sometimes the songs shift and change unexpectedly into beautiful pinkfloydian-like ethereal journeys. Sometimes they’ll return to where they started but more often than not will take you on a sonic trip to somewhere you always wanted to go but didn’t know how to get there.

Their music is highly original and distinctive but bands like Killing Joke, Ministry, Jim Thirwell AKA Foetus, Osees, Flaccid Mojo, Stranglers, Devo, Gang of 4, Birthday Party and hell, even early H+C in their experimental early days may suggest themselves as you listen to their electronic and acoustic assault.

Trust me. You need this record. It will change your life and restore your faith in humanity. Resistance is useless."
