Still Life is brutal. it will break you. while Pawn Hearts or Godbluff might have this album bested musically, this one hits the closest to your soul.

A bit less heavy of an accent on the instrumental parts, this album almost feels like a solo one by Peter Hammill. Almost. Though it all connects, especially lyrics-wise.

As with any other VdGG album, it can take a little while to really comprehend and there is still a lot to relisten for. Peter Hammill always gives this distinct crazy-like sound to whatever he composes, the instruments never disappoint either.
