VENOM - At War With Satan LP (colour vinyl)

Limited edition gold colour vinyl.

The title track is actually quite amazing, a very respectable execution of progressive black metal. The remaining tracks are all okay (and at times rather good) but come across as throw aways in respect to the whole. It should always be noted that this is early 80s black metal and has little in common with BM of the late 90s and 2000s. Primitive garage rock was always Venom's forte, albeit heavy and blasphemous, but I think they really showed their origins as music fans and musicians on this album and it stands as possibly their best output.
