WATER FROM YOUR EYES - It's A Beautiful Place LP
Highly recommended.
Water From Your Eyes continue their rise in the music world with It's A Beautiful Place, a record that grows on their last release, the critical darling Everyone's Crushed.
The band is definitely feeling a bit easier to digest, but they still retain their quirks. The band plays within the sandbox of modern indie rock, but slams digital break beats over chunky power chords, or lets a thumpy bass groove under a busy guitar lead while the vocals move at a totally different rhythm.
The band disarms the listener here. They lull you into a groove and hit you with something out of left field that's totally unexpected, but not obnoxious. You could have this on at a party and people would never turn their head and go "What is this?" But they reward people who actively listen and pick up on the unique decision making they employ.
