WET LEG - Moisturizer (Extended Edition) 2LP (colour vinyl)
Limited Extended Edition on double red colour vinyl.
The ripping second album by Wet Leg is fast approaching its first anniversary. To celebrate, the Isle of Wight five-piece have announced moisturizer (deluxe), an expanded set that includes remixes from horsegiirL, The Dare and FDC DJs (aka Carlos O'Connell and Tom Coll of Fontaines D.C.); three songs previously unreleased on streaming comprising “hi from me” which was originally only available on the Japanese CD, a demo of “don’t speak” recorded by Hester at her home studio and “u and me at home intro/outro” – the first part of which fans will recognise as the band’s walk-on music. The deluxe album is rounded off with a handful of live recordings made at LA’s The Village studios in 2025.
These songs pull from a wide palette of inspirations as well, from classic indie rockers like The Strokes and The Breeders, to the quirky indie sensibilities of Sidney Gish and Courtney Barnett, just to name a few.
Between Teasdale's vocals and the band's clear sense of style, they are carving a lane all their own within the indie-rock space, and I think we'll continue to see the band refine, develop, and explore their capabilities moving forward. On this album, however, they deliver us a stylish, fun, emotional, and creative set of tracks to soundtrack a large chunk of the summer to come.
