Experimental rockers Yoo Doo Right (Montréal, QC) team up with multi-instrumentalist virtuoso, Nolan Potter (Austin, TX), and psychedelic rock trio Population II (Montréal, QC) to record a one-of-a-kind long-player meshing elements from krautrock, free jazz, and noise. The album was an impromptu meeting of like minds, recorded during a two-hour session in one small room. The music occurred organically and of its own volition.

"We recorded this during the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas. Yoo Doo Right and Population II had a short break between shows and I invited them to the studio to see what would happen. With the help of a great engineer, we tracked about 90 minutes of music with one quick intermission. 90% of what you hear on the record is improvised. My recollection is that there was a serious energy in the room, everyone played with extreme intention and determination. Some of the track titles are based on the expeditions of a French explorer from a time before North America had borders, whose journey ended in mutiny. Making this record was an exploration for us too, but we’re much more pleased with the results." – Nolan Potter

It's hard to doo entirely wrong falling in love with Kraut Rock. The steadying influence of its motorik is a reliable contributor in any musical partnership. But this collaborative effort from a couple of Québécois Post-Rock outfits risks introducing a hot young Prog Rocker from Texas to the marriage. Sure, on the record it sounds like an arrangement of convenience more than kink. But can anyone make a musical throuple like this work? Based on the evidence at hand, Yes they CAN.
