Very rarely in history has any band ever changed their style at so basic a level as Texas' Blues Rock stalwarts ZZ Top did with 1983's Eliminator. And for a band to change their sound this completely - and then achieve monstrous success is almost unheard of.

Eliminator should be regarded as one of the greatest cases ever of right place, right time. With this album ZZ Top almost completely forsook their warm and earthy Blues Rock sound for a cold and polished, relentless, driving mechanistic fury that is at once both unsettling and ferociously grand.
